A proud De La Salle graduate, Dr. John Chrustowski has deep roots in Southeast Michigan and a firm commitment to serving the communities that shaped him. He studied biology at Ferris State University and was accepted into the Michigan College of Optometry through its early admittance program, later earning his Doctor of Optometry degree with high honors in 2018. He also holds a degree in Vision Science.
During his clinical training, Dr. Chrustowski completed rotations in specialty contact lenses right here at Normandy Optical, pediatric and primary care at Henry Ford OptimEyes, and ocular disease at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center. These experiences shaped his full-scope approach to care — one that blends precise diagnostics with a strong patient-first philosophy.
Today, Dr. Chrustowski sees patients across multiple Normandy Optical locations and provides comprehensive care for all ages. His clinical interests include managing dry eye disease, myopia control, and the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic eye disease, and age-related macular degeneration. He’s passionate about forming long-term relationships with patients and caring for entire families across generations.
Dr. Chrustowski is an active member of the Michigan Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Outside of work, you’ll find him spending time with family, enjoying Michigan summers, and cheering on all of Detroit’s sports teams.
