Mark Kaczmarek, O.D.
Mark Kaczmarek, O.D., is from Hartland, MI and is a graduate of Hartland High School. He studied biology/pre-optometry at Saginaw Valley State University and was an active member of their marching band, jazz ensemble, and percussion ensemble. Prior to the completion of his bachelor’s degree, Dr. Kaczmarek was accepted to the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University through their early admission program. Throughout his first year of optometry school, he completed the requirements to achieve a bachelor’s degree in Vision Science. During his externship year, Dr. Kaczmarek gained valuable experience with primary care, specialty contact lenses, and ocular disease at the Battle Creek Veterans Affairs Hospital, a multi-location private practice in Central Michigan, and Normandy Optical. He obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Michigan College of Optometry in 2021 with highest honors.

Dr. Kaczmarek has returned to Normandy Optical and enjoys practicing full-scope optometry which includes managing ocular diseases such as dry eye, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease.
Dr. Kaczmarek met his wife, Dr. Kelsey Kaczmarek, while in optometry school and they got married in October of 2022. They have settled in Commerce and cherish time with their dog, Nora, who is a cavapoo. Their favorite hobby together is a competitive round of mini golf. Dr. Kaczmarek also enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and on the smoker.
